In the early spring travel Hwy 99 North to Red Bluff... take Hwy 36 East to Paynes Creek. Turn at the Paynes Creek Store on to Plum Creek Rd. Travel to Ponderosa Way. Ponderosa Way drops down into both the Mill Cr and Deer Cr Caynons. Ishi Country! At first travel to Black Rock get to know where you are and between those two creeks is some of the best spring and fall riding in the country. Trails are marked but jeep trails can be negotiated after you try them out.

I began riding Dirt Bikes (Suzuki 80cc) in 1963 in my backyard (Chester/Lake Almanor.) In 1969 (Bultaco 250 Alpina 1969 & 71 and in 1973 I purchased the 1973 350 & another one in 1975.) I began working for a lumber/logging company who owns 88,000 acres of prime forestland. Plumas and Lassen Counties...(Surrounded by more than 139,000 of USFS roads and trails.) I start my CRF-450 in my backyard, drive it down the alley and I 'm in the wilderness! We have riden every weekend and haven't missed but a few in the last 47 years. There are more miles of dirt trails and interesting country than anywhere else I've traveled. I enjoy riding to places hard to get to, not riding around on designated trails and roads with everyone going the same direction. Wouldn't trade this area for any desert, track or MC park anywhere!
