slades park is ok to trail ride, no jumps, but the trails are clear and fast. better to go during the week with friends. also try Morgan's Corner, it's just over the NC border between Virginia and Elizabeth City, NC. also try the Currituck motorcross park: www.ridecmx.com , this place is good for adults and kids they have three tracks and he works hard to keep it up. the track has just changed and starting to hook up good.

    by AI45 » Sun Feb 19, 2006 7:06 am

Where are you lookin to ride in VA, Im located in Harrisonburg, two hours south of DC, pretty central in terms of places to ride. Me and a buddy go up to Taskers Gap and some other places nearby. Trying to find some tracks close by to mix up with the trials.
Waitin for some warmer weather too.

There's a place in Gloucester, near the border of King and Queen, called Robert's Track and Trails. I went there for the first time this past weekend. It was the most fun I've had in 6 months. Slade's Park was getting a little boring. He has nicely marked trails that are supposed to be ten miles of them. I didn't have enough time to find them all. The parking lot is a little small, but he plans to make it bigger. There are NO bathrooms yet. He's only open 1 day a weekend for now. You have to call ahead to find out which day. The mx track is about a mile and quarter long and growing. It has some doubles that range from 4 to 5 feet high and a couple of tabletops the same hieght. Robert just does't want anyone to roll over the jumps, there's room to go around, because you'll end up knocking the tops off or going over the handlebars (some of the jumps have vertical backs with 4x4 wood reenforcement).
