    First holeshots?

    by krisrtch » Mon Apr 28, 2008 1:18 pm

Ok well this weekend of racing went pretty darn good. I ran the 250 Beginner and +30C. But, sigh  I ran it on my CR250 but hey still a Honda!!! Sorry guys! The last moto of the 250 Beginner I pulled my first ever holeshot. I was in complete disbelief. I held it for about a half a lap then gave it up.
My question is who else got that kind of feeling of (Did I just do that?) When they pulled their first holeshot. I'm completely pumped now knowing that I can pull it off now. That has always been my biggest fear was the first corner pile up. Now that I have done it the fear has gone away a little bit and has made racing that much more fun.
Just wanted to see if anyone else had the same feeling after their first holeshot.

Where do you race at? My son is just getting into it. We have been to Dade City a couple of times. And I'm fixing a bike for me to give it a try. What other places around lakeland are good?

Old topic- but in April I got my first ever holeshot. It was awesome! I'm pretty sure I laughed out loud under my helmet, especially since I was racing some kids that have done well at Lorettas! I haven't gotten another one yet tho. Usually 3rd ish out of about 10..

I ran my first MX race on my 150R two weeks ago. The third and fourth race I got the holeshot!!! I wanted to try my luck at running a Hare Scramble in Merwin MO this weekend. This race, unlike most, used a motocross gate and live start. I knew this was an advantage. Yes, I got the holeshot, but lost it shortly thereafter. In fact, I finished 10th out of 11, but I had a great time for my first Hare Scramble on this bike. Holeshots on the 150R are easy when racing 85 and 100 cc two strokes to the first turn.
