Second race.

I had my second race on the 20th of Mar. I did a lot better than the first time. It's a difference what a month makes and 10 hours of riding. First moto wheelied and had to shut it down. Went into the first turn 11th out of 12. By lap two I was in sixth. I needed about 4 more laps and I think I could have gotten 5th (doesn't everybody think that). For all you X riders, there was a guy running seventh on a 250X. Those things will run better than I would have thought. Second moto I got 5th off the start and ended up 6th at the end. I battled with the 5th place rider the entire race (4 laps 2 miles each) and just couldn't get around him. Every time I was going to go high he would take the same line. The next lap I would try low and he would take the low line. I think he was reading my mind. Anyway it was a blast again. Can't wait until next month to see how much I can improve this month.
Redrider I have pictures up of this one. I didn't have any good ones of the first one.

jason, good job on the pics. Sixth is not bad. First is now in your sights!!!! Did you at least trophy? Our beginner class has about 30 riders and i think you can get a trophy up to 10th place. 25 more days until first race of the season up here.

Thanks for the compliments. You get a trophy from 5th on up. I'm going to work on the places I'm losing ground on. I wasn't hitting the jumps as fast as I should. Need to get some more riding in before I air it out and still need to work on the corners some. After the big jumps I would lose probably a hundred feet or more. By the time we hit the whoops I was back on his back tire. Then it's a tight trails type section and every time I nailed it the bike would go sideways (like a flat tracker). I could have forced the issue but I'm not going to cause a crash for a trophy. Playing back the race in my mind I know where I could have taken a different line that would have set up a pass three or four turns later. Oh well it was a lot of fun and that's what I'm out there for.
