It's that time again...Des Nations

we all remember what happened last year with the des nations team where mike was on and then off the team. it's that time again when chatter starts about who the "AMA" will select. we all know that Ricky is calling the shots on who will go. Obviously, it will be Ricky and James for the top two spots. however, the third spot isn't as obvious. there's a lot of talk about Alessi or Vilipoto picking up third spot. if you've been following the outdoor national season you know that Alessi holds the points lead but lately hasn't been able to consistently beat Villipoto. Ryan is hot and learning quickly in his rookie year. Ricky is on record saying the Ryan reminds the GOAT of himself at that age. That's saying a lot.

Who would you like to see as the third member of the U.S. Des Nations team?

Ken

P.S. You might be asking why isn't Kevin or Davey Millsaps in the running. Basically, they need a lites racer on the team. With RC and Bubba racing the MX class they need to fill out the last slot with a MX-lites rider. If RC dropped down to the Lites-class they could go after Millsaps or possibly Kevin Windham. RC has indicated some interest in racing a Lites bike but in my mind that's a stretch. I believe he would rather put together the best possible team than show his stuff in the lites class.

Can Millsaps ride the lites class?

he could but they likely would only consider dropping RC down in that class. it's traditional to bring two current MX-class and one MX-lites class riders.

Milsaps just smoked all the lites guys in SX though, he should get to go, if he stayed in the lites for outdoors, he would be king of that class. Mike Allessi should have been banned from AMA for a year for what he did in the last lites race last year.

i'm becoming a believer in millsaps. i was very impressed early in the outdoor season when he was within camera view of ricky and bubba for neearly half the race.

i wouldn't mind seeing him on the team with ricky and james.

RV all the way. He is fast, can stay on two wheels, AND can come through the pack. In fact, I haven't seen a kid that's able to slice his way through so well since....well you know.

Alessi cannot come from behind. He is good if he can get a start.

i love watching ryan ride. i agree he can come through the pack like no one else in the lites class. alessi seems to have to be one or two out of the first turn to have a chance at the win. i'd love to see ryan go. this kid is the real deal.

At the unadilla race the announcers kept comparing him to RC.

I am a huge RV fan... my only question is: Does he have the experience on the big stage? Look at KW last year, he barely made the grade... Mr. Lites himself last year, Tedesco was an embarrassment! I would go with Windham (Experience and consistency), RC, and Bubba... I would have Bubba ride the lites class! Here is a scary thought... in three years... Millsaps, RV, and Alessi! (Most likely, Bubba will be driving NASCAR)
