    '09 SX season

by The Captain » Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:03 pm

So, what are your guys thoughts on this upcoming season? I honestly think that we'll be in for one of the greatest race seasons ever to be seen.

I think it will boil down to Stewart and Reed for the championship. Though I am a Windham fan, I think his days in the lime light may be over, hopefully I'm wrong. Villopoto may do well but I don't see him being consistent enough in his first year with the big boys.

As a die hard Stewart fan, I hope (if he stays healthy) that he shows the guy from down under whats what!!

BTW, Speed channel is airing a 3 hour live special for the first race of the season, airing on the 3rd at 10pm eastern time.

I agree that Stewart is the fastest guy out there. I hope he will get into Reed's head and cause them both issues.

My hopes lie with Davi Milsapps. He is the future.

Me too. There 's some really nice kids out there from a character and personality standpoint, Milsapps and Dungey for instance.
Reed bores me to tears , especially since his, uh,"alternative life-style" ad for Thor with the make-up,eye liner, and girlie earrings. All that and rude and arrogant. Hmmm.

I agree! I cannot stand him...which I think adds to the sport. Every story needs the villain.

I just think he and Jason Lawrence should get a couple of small dogs and retire. Maybe share an apartment in west Hollywood...

Don't put Andrew Short out of the Mix. He's been Training hard and has podium experience and is hungry for a #1 plate.

I think if stewart stays healthy , There is no way anyone is gonna beat him out of the championship. That being said I think if anyone really has a chance to take it, Its Reed. Being on Suzuki and now Training with Ricky has to have its advantages!I think that puts him in a really great place.

I love millsaps...and Dungey as well!...Definitely the year for dungey to get it done, especially in the outdoors.

K-dub is cool too, and I don't think he can be counted out.

Villopoto is fast as hell no matter what size bike hes on...I'm really anxious to see if he can grab podiums and fight Stewart and reed for the championship.

Andrew Short can definitely not be counted out...or Tim Ferry for that matter. Don't forget Mike Alessi , whos fast as hell and riding Suzuki also!...Also...Ivan Tedesco (HONDA PEOPLE) could be a sleeper also!....Gonna be a GREAT season to watch and I agree It will be one of the best if everyone stays healthy. Great for the fans!

    Every story needs the villain.

    So true that is.
You know, when he first came over he wasn't anything like that, not that I remember.

Don't forget the spanking Villopoto put on folks at the Moto de Nations ...

My money is on Stewart for most wins with Reed and Villopoto trading a lot of 2nds. I know that even RC and JS had quite the learning curve when they moved up, so I see the risk putting any money on RV, but I probably will anyway (Lord knows I have thrown enough dollars on Windham over the years just cause I like him and know he "could" be a contender on any given night).

Always have thought the world of Windham, but I think he has probably taken over LaRocco's slot in the big picture.

Anybody ever seen or heard of a Fantasy SX season? Like Fantasy Football. Don't know if one exsists or not. Might be kind of fun to put together some rules. Points gained for finishing positions. Teams of 3 or 5 riders, picked in some sort of lottery. Year end awards. Something to think about.

Being from Georgia I have found myself really wanting Millsaps to do well. I have a kid that lives close by that is a full time student at the Millsaps family training facility and he speaks very highly of the entire family. We also like Trey Canard in the East lites series we are waiting to see if he can re-peat.

I am going to all 3 Anaheim races and want to see what the new season will bring. It will be a sleeper if no one can challenge Stewart. Bubba can still lose focus or be his usual self and crash if pressed hard. I truly don't believe that Millsaps can hang in long enough. He seems to fade in the stretch or crash. Shorty is more heart than talent, but he can have an amazing outing now and then.
I want to see what RV brings to the plate his first year. The kid has the speed to hang with Stewart, but he sometimes tries too hard and eats it. I can see him getting some hole shots and staying out front for a while until the mistake happens.

    Hey Joe,
i've got my tickets for the ATL SX. I was wondering about what time do you get out of there? Time wise. I just want to make sure I don't miss the last train back to where I'll be parking.
