SPOILER - de Nations Team Changes

    by Roady » Fri Aug 24, 2007 8:11 am

    Straight from Racer X:

    August 24, 2007
Team USA: Ferry In, Stewart Out

The official entry list for the 2007 FIM Motocross of Nations landed in our in-boxes this morning, and Tim Ferry is "in" as Team USA's MX3 rider. His Monster Energy Kawasaki teammate James Stewart has apparently withdrawn from the race with his knee injury from Washougal. As a result, Ricky Carmichael now takes the MX1 slot that Stewart was set for, and Ferry will be Monster Team USA's #3 rider, with Ryan Villopoto in the middle.

I would like to know how in the heck Speed didn't pick this coverage up? I mean .... come on!

Half dozen buddies made the trip yesterday ... had a ticket for me, but I can't swing airfare, hotel room, etc. right now with tuition (son) and a wedding (daughter) pending

I will have to make up for it by attending in Europe some day when some expenses are off my plate 8)

Sure that will go over well with the Mrs. ... I'm taking you to Europe (but you have to go with me to de Nations) :D

I am appalled with MX coverage every week!!Why do they separate the Motocross class from the Lites? Why do they wait more than a week to show the race? What other sport on earth delays broadcasts, let alone for that long?!!! Why would you NOT air what is in essence the Olympics of motocross? Look now, you've got me started again!!!  Again, I receive the channel that the link above states will air the race. However, when I go to the menu on my TV, the race does not appear. I will tune in at 8PM Eastern just to be sure, but Salem, Oregon is not exactly a MX crazy region like SoCal!

The showdown between Cairoli and Villopoto didn't happen Saturday. RV got the holeshot in his qualifying race and totally checked out. Cairoli maybe 5th or 6th on the start but had too much battling to do to even see RV on the track. RV was maybe half a lap ahead after 20 minutes.

RC checked out in his qualifying race, even though Grant Langston made a move on him early, but RC got back by.

Ferry battled with J-Rod and Byrne to take the third and final qualifier, making the day a full Team USA sweep.

New Zealand is out of the event. Townley hurt his shoulder Saturday morning, and Hurley got a concussion, so that's a bummer for a very strong team.

Silly Season bit - Jeff Alessi to AMA Arenacross riding for Tuf Honda (Pre-confirmed rumor).

Bummer for Townley and the team from NZ.

I hear Jeff Alessi was done in by the infamous dealings so many have had with his Dad ... bummer for him as well.

    Thanks for the update.

Just so you know, Cairoli wasn't riding his own championship machine. It was held up in customs. Did pretty well in spite of that.
