I was at the track last Saturday and got about a hour of riding in , and my 02 450R started popping , and dying , then after a few minutes , it would not kick start and i had to push start it , then the next time i shut it off , it would not start no matter how much i kicked or pushed , not even a pop

So i loaded it up and took it home , today i finally got the few minutes to look it over , i ruled out the valves , i ruled out the spark plug boot , but its getting no spark at all , i tried the boot off my 450X , and still nothing , i put the R boot on the X and it had great spark , maybe tomorrow i will do some tests on the stator and coil , but i am pretty sure the stator went out .... this blows , and i already spent my fun budget for this month on some rims for my truck , so , it looks like it will be after the 3rd of Aug , before i can ride the R again , well actually , before i can afford to fix it so i can ride it , but at least i can still ride , so i will do some off-roading this weekend (if i have time to ride at all , in between all the work i have to do around here)

And i have to wear a heart monitor for the next month (till Aug 13th , 3 days before my 56th B-day) , because i have been having low pulse readings here and there and my BP is up between 145/90 to 169/110 , which is why i like track riding because it gives me a good workout and it seems to lessen the issues of the heart pounding and heart burn( its weird that the hard activity of doing moto's actually takes away some issues instead of making them worse , oh well as long as i can ride , i dont care)

OH , and while i was at the track Saturday , some dipwad , must have been doing donuts in the parking lot and shot a rock into my windshield , , as i saw the donuts marks in the parking area from a bike , so it could have been any one of a dozen people squirreling around , so i need a new windshield as well , oh , and Friday night about 2am , the power pole outside my house got hit by lightning (i live 10 miles from town on 105 acres , the lightning hit the transformer), and it fried my phone , the control boxes to the well , the air conditioner , and some other things , luckily it did not fry my TV or my computer , and oddly enough , the electronics on my bike die the same weekend ... go figure ...

When it rains ..... it pours ....

G'day Jim,
I got my heart monitor off today, annoying things to wear for a few days, let alone a month. Can you take yours off for a shower? They made me keep mine on and no showering. Thankfully it is still cold here so the BO does get bad.

Being a bike down sucks and I bet the windscreen really topped off your day.

Hey , Ray ! , Yea i am allowed to take showers , but i have to take it off when i do , so that is when i charge everything , and swap out batteries , where i live there is no Cell Phone service , so i have to drive 3 miles down the road , then call the heart monitor people , and then upload the data to them , i have to change the pads out every day , so i have to put them in different spots each time , my chest is already looking like i have a rash from the glue on them , i have all these red circles now , that feel like raw skin , so i know by the middle of next month , i am going to be really sore , plus when i sweat if i do anything physical , the pads get loose and i have to replace them , and wipe my chest down with Alcohol (stings like crazy on the rash) so the new ones stick

The last upload , they already found some abnormalities , it showed my heart slowed down to about 35 BPM and stopped for a few seconds , then when it started going again , it went into a irregular rhythm , they said it basically went into Atrial fibrillation for a few minutes , then went back to normal

So at least they found something , so that part is good , but , i feel ok in between the heart burn and the pounding of my heart , it does not seem to beat fast , it just beats real hard every once in a while , like it would after you just got done running on a treadmill or working out hard , except i am just sitting on the couch or laying in bed doing nothing when it does it , i guess when it does it , is when it goes into Afib , so hopefully they will get enough data to figure out a plan on treating or fixing the issue

And yea this weekend should be better , as far as the windshield goes , they have a place around here called Fast Glass , i can get a new windshield for my truck , and they come all the way out to my house to install it , for $150.00 total , that is for the windshield itself and the labor and the drive out here , so its a pretty good deal , i actually just had them do this in January , so i got about 6 months out this last windshield before some idiot broke it for me, but i need to wait , its not critical that i have it done right now , it can wait till next month

It looks like i wont get to ride today , as i could not get anyone that had time today (not supposed to ride alone till they get this under control) , and i have a lot of work around here i need to get done anyway , so looks like next weekend , unless i can get one of my friends away for a Sunday ride , its in the high 80's F. low 90's F. here , so stink would become a issue real quick

At those temps the pads don't stay on long.
They used a different pad on me this time and so the skin wasn't red raw after 24hrs. Still itches and they have been off for 2 days.

Sounds like there is something going on with your heart, almost like forget to beat. Brother in law had Atrial fibrillation all the time for years but had keyhole surgery to kill of the rogue nerves (or whatever it was) inside his heart. Fit as a fiddle now.
Hope they can sort it out for you because a dickey ticker does knock you around a bit.

Yea , i have been dealing with this condition for over a year now , at one point last year i was blacking out over 50 times in a day , i could not ride or do much of anything for that matter , then they just went away , then i started having issues again in June , i am riding , but i have to ride with someone now , "just in case" , so there is someone to get me to the E.R. like what happened last month , i hope it does not go into surgery , but if it guarantees it gets rid of these issues so i can get back to having fun again , i am all for that !!!

And yea the heat makes the gel ooze out , it makes a mess , they told me about some "Pediatric" pads , that don't give as much of a rash , but i guess they don't stick as well either , so i am not sure it will work if i am doing anything physical , i will sweat and they will come off easier than these do , so i don't really know if they are worth the effort of having to replace them more often or not....

As it is now it looks like a Octopus has had its tentacles all over my chest

I just sent in more Data , they asked me why i pushed the monitor 9 times last night , i said because i was having heart pounding and palpitations that many times , they were coming every few minutes for several hours last night , its even happening right now as i am typing , so no physical activity needed and my heart is beating like a ran a marathon , i really hope they get answers from all the data they are collecting ...

G'day Jim,

Back from the Cardiologist and the heart is pumping less efficiently than last time.
Ejection fraction was 40% six months ago and now I am down to 35%. Normal heart is about 50% and at 30% the pacemaker word is on the table. Well another change to the tablets and check again in 3 months. Bugger. Heart is electrically OK from the monitor I wore so that is one good thing.

Wow , scary ! , i am still on mine , got about 3 weeks left , i am still having the pounding heart but i feel ok while doing any activities , so until the doc says no , i am going to keep doing normal things and keep riding as much as i can , i just keep pushing the button every time i get the pounding and sending in data

I really hope they get something sorted out with you without having to resort to a pacemaker , ..... positive thoughts going your way from here !!
