So my 05' threw a chain and destroyed the left case. I am wanting to get this thing fixed on the cheap of course. Hole is probably too big to be patched up so I believe a new case half is in order.

What years can I use? looking at EBAY ads and found several 03-04 case halves. What years do I need to look for?

Also, I have found a new OEM case half for a decent price, just not sure if they come loaded from the factory with bearings or if they are empty? Adding all the bearings and seals would make it not a decent price anymore!

Was it the case itself where the clutch actuator is ?? , or the ignition cover/stator cover ?

Looking up part numbers for the case itself , 04 - 08 each have different part numbers and completely different prices for each year , i don't personally know what the difference would be , PM Ken , if anyone knows he might , i have not personally swapped different years , but in most things with the R's , 02-04 are different , then 05-08 , then 09-12 , but that does not mean everything within those years is the same , i would "think" that 05-08 should fit with no issues unless there is something done different that i don't know about , 02-04 they made a lot of changes , and even within 02,03,04 there were major changes distinctive between each year

And i am still not saying that anything between 02-08 would not fit , i personally just do not know , but from looking at the part numbers , something is different , only 05-06 was a superseded part number but it was 1 digit off in 06 , so according to Honda Parts Fiche each year is different , but i find that hard to believe , since so many other parts do interchange , but have different part numbers

Well that sucks , i would go ahead and PM Ken and see if he has tried interchanging different year cases and if he knows what years will actually fit
