    New Piston Question

    by SilentAnarchy » Fri May 09, 2014 9:33 am

    Hey guys.

Its time to put a new piston in my '11 450R. Was looking at different brands and compression levels. My question is, if i put a higher compression piston in, will I still be able to run just 91 or 92 octane gas from my local gas station?

    Thanks for the help

    hi josh,

you can bump up the compression a bit and be safe with premium pump gas. going too high will require increasing octane at most altitudes but certainly at lower altitudes.

    Awesome, Thanks Ken!

Any recommendations on a specific brand over another?
