    HRC tuner for 2009-2014 bikes

am waiting for my HRC tuner to arrive for my 2011 CRF450R.

Has anyone on here played around with this tool at very extreme settings? just how big of a change can you realistically make with this tool?

Some people claim that you can "dial it down" so much that it becomes completely docile and slow, great for a novice rider, or tough woods riding. Or, you can "dial it up" into a fire breathing "pro only" machine in a matter of seconds! That almost sounds too easy and too good to be true. It is like having 3 or 4 different bikes in the garage, just by downloading a different map.

Can anyone offer some first hand experience with the actual range of tuning that is possible with the HRC tuner? can it really make a massive change or just very subtle differences?

I race MX, hare scrambles, enduros, cross country. Having the ability to quickly, easily and cheaply completely change the character of one bike to that degree will be fantastic. Might even be able to sell off some of my bikes and replace them with just the CRF450R and the tuner!

Yes you can do all of that. But you really have to know what you are doing to play with ignition mapping. Backing off ignition advance is not as dangerous. Advancing is highly dangerous and should be done on dyno only. Unless you have someone with you that really understands what the motor wants. Typically you make dyno runs adjusting ignition until it stops making power then back off a few degrees. There is also a limit to how far you can back off ignition. Its best not to mess with it yourself. Just upload maps you find on the internet. Chances are you can find exactly what you need.
