    Throttle body insert 09 450r

    by Monkeebizness » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:36 pm

Has anyone ever used the throttle body inserts on their 09 Crf 450r. I have been having some stalling issues, in the tight switchbacks and corners on single track. I have a rekluse exp core, and a heavy fly wheel weight. I just changed out my fuel filter and it still seems to be happening. I find that if I am doing repeated throttle blips on tight corners it stalls out on me. I read that these inserts are supposed to drop the size of the throttle body opening from a 50mm to a 46mm. Which is close to the sizes of the newer 450r tb.

providing there aren't other issues remapping can help this issue as well. to answer your questions, yes, we've heard good things about the velocity stack inserts for low and mid throttle response:

    Thanks Ken,
I was just about to ask where to get one.. I am currently running the full Yosh ti system, and running the pim2. I talked to Yosh about the mapping I am running and there response is to get a data box so I can tune for my riding and elevation ect.. They set the mapping for the pim2 at sea level and I run any where from 3000 and up. have you had any experience with their sytems and mapping. I can download different maps for my inserts which rang from the 94 96 and 99db. I ususaly run the 96 cause it has a spark arrester. The maps available are a 12 a/f or a 12.5 a/f for each pipe insert. Do you know what the difference is between the 2 maps ? I havent heard back from them on this and I really am not sure about dumping more cash into this system.

Hi i was just wondering if anyone ever figured out the fix for stalling issues in tight single track. i have an 09 450r with almost the exact same setup as Monkee and am having the same issue.. i even got my TB modded by injectioneering (though it smoothed out the 1/4 throttle harshness, Still it stalls with quick on/off throttle inputs at low speed first gear riding even with a ReKluse auto clutch. i have full PC exhaust, 17oz FW, pro start Rekluse, and stock mapping.. i've thought about the TB insert. has anyone had any luck with it as far as a low RPM stall fix? please reply

Just bump your idle up. Some ignition mapping may help.
