Yeah I knew I didn't "need" them, but they are more for the other people on the road when I messing around town. Not a lot of people know the hand signals let alone can see them at night. I have Michelin AC10 DOT legal tires. Thanks!

Went to the Michigan SOS today to get a title for my "dirt bike." In most states this type of motorcycle would be considered "off-road only." To get it street legal you would have to do what I did, and put head/tail lights, turn signals, horn, DOT tires, and sometimes a mirror on it. Then call the local police station and have a cop meet you to look it over. The cop would fill out a special form to take back to the SOS saying it was good to go. The woman behind the counter said that since it had a 450cc engine that it was consider a "street legal" motorcycle and I could go ahead and get the regular title to be able to get plates for it(not proving that I had all the requirements met). I swear for the amount of research I did before hand it didn't say anything about that engine size trumping not having all that stuff. Oh well, that just saved me a bunch of running around!

I've never heard that before. I know for a fact it still needs to have those features to be legal no matter what size it is. Sounds like you got someone at SOS who doesnt know what they are talking about. Excellent work!

Tried to plate my 04 CRF 450 R in California no go! My buddy that owns property in Havasu registered the bike and both our names and place me on his AZ insurance . That's the only way they would do it. Note I still have my CA insurance with AAA. And because it's an AZ bike no blinkers are required.
    Color me gone!
