Ok so I inspected and gears inside the right cover. All looks good to me. Reassembled and Troyes kicking over in gear and in neutral. All ok. (Plug out, tensioner out.) timing marks all line up correctly. Going to put plug and everything back in and try running it up my street. If it happens to stall and lock again I’ll have to split the case.
Fall / winter project I guess.
