My name is Claudio and I'm Italian (I'm sorry in advance for my bad english) greetings to all the forum and a Happy New Year!

My bike is a 2004 CRF 450 R, and my sport enduro in the woods and mountains of northern Italy .... steep hills and some flat road connecting

This kit has solved my problems with the fifth "short" caused by the final 13-53

I've only done 60 miles and I am satisfied with this kit ... optimal spacing and precision engagement as an OEM transmission

Good buy for me ... thanks ... great job CRF's Only

    claudio,

thanks for the feedback. you are not alone, those who have reported back to us are very pleased with the gear ratios/spacing and the quality of transmission. most say it shifts better than the stock transmission too. glad to hear you have received similar results.

Hi Ken, is there a possibility to offer this transmission with the addition of Yoshimura ISF polishing process?

The process costs approx $200 from Yoshimura, but the same process can be found in other places possibly for cheaper. I live in Canada and can't find a place that offers it here, but I know of a few places in the USA that do it.

    ISF = Isotropic Superfinishing

Do a little research on it and you'll see it's a GREAT addition to any transmission.

I'm considering purchasing this kit, as I road race my CRF and finding sprockets < 42 for my specific wheels is a challenge. Being able to use sprockets in the 40's will allow me better selection.

Using the gearing commander application (http://www.gearingcommander.com/) I've come to a rough estimate on top speed per gear at varying RPM with your new kit.

For supermoto with a 165/55/R17 rear tire with 14/42 Final Drive @ 9850 RPM:

    Stock CRF transmission

    CRF's Only transmission

And now, 21/19 dirt wheels with stock final drive:

we are a yosh dealer and so if this is a service they provide on existing transmissions that i'm sure i could have them do it to ours. since our wide ratio trans is only 2nd through 5th i'm assuming you'd have to send in the rest of the trans for this?

Oh, I wasn't aware that your kit didn't come complete. I figured it was all gears included so worn parts weren't mixed with new parts.

    Here's a link to Yoshimura's ISF page:
    http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/t-Engine_Se ... c=services

If you'd like to go to PM's maybe we could discuss a package deal with your kit, new OEM gears and the ISF process? I have more parts I need to purchase for my race bike as I am doing a complete 60hp build so maybe we can work something out.

    *cough* sponsorship *cough* ;)

as you likely know, first gear is on the primary drive so including that as part of the wide-ratio transmission would make it very expensive. so, only including 2nd through 5th was in an effort to make it affordable.

feel free to pm me for additional questions.

Just took my 08 out for it's first ride since rebuilding it, I am running it in a bit so haven't given it a good hiding yet but can definately confirm the wide ratio gears shift nice and smooth and seem well spaced for my type of riding (desert).
I didn't have any clearance issues between the gears and case either, it all slipped in perfectly.
I will keep the feedback coming as I get to ride it a bit more.

thanks for the feedback. this is exactly what we are hearing from all our wide-ratio trans customers.

welcome to CRF's Only. we have not tried it or tested in a CR250. the best thing to do is get 2nd through 5th gears from both and compare and measure them.

    again, welcome!
