    2013 CRF100F running weird

    by BeastlyHonda » Tue Jun 07, 2016 10:23 am

My crf100f is running really weird and just started the other day, when ever I hit the gas and like gun it, it feels as if the back wheel is slipping. I was on cement, and the road was dry, and I have a brand new tire on it, the rear wheel was not slipping. It acts exactly as if the rear is slipping, like it revs up really high and the back wheel is barely spinning, and when I let off the gas it feels like something in the engine catches and it goes back too normal, until I hit the gas again. I think it might be he clutch. Anyone know more?

    Sure sounds like a clutch.
So engine revs up but bike does move when in gear with clutch out?

Yea. It goes into gear and moves, but it should be going faster when while I'm whatever rpm. It feels like somehing is slipping. Like I'm going really slow and I'm redlining.

Well barring any other mechanical failure it sounds like a clutch replacement is due.

Before tearing into though make sure you have clearance at the clutch lever. Always do the simple checks first.
