I have a 2004 crf150 that I am trying to set up for my son. I am new to this and not sure if my question will make sense so please forgive me if it doesn't. The bike is a little tall for him but not tall enough to add a lowing link. Is there a way to adjust the sag to better fit his height?

You can reduce the amount of preload on the rear shock spring . which will let the bike sag more when the suspension is loaded .

Back off the threaded ring on the top of the shock until the bike is at the ride height you want (with your boy sitting on it wearing all of his gear !)
back it off too much and you won't like it the rear end will be pretty mushy .

If the bike needs to come down more than a 1/2 to an inch I would consider a lowering link , otherwise you will blow the geomtry for the front and rear .

another solution to gain a little seat height is too simply pull the forks up in the triple tree a little bit , this will let the front end down and actually improve tight handling on the trail , at the expense of a little high speed front end wobble . Probably will be a non issue on a 150 though as they are not very fast anyway .

If he can't flat foot it when sitting on level ground , get the lowering link , cause off road he will not be able to touch when he stops and will fall over ( been there done that )

I've seen people in the same situation with there sons about the 150 being to small.

A nother idea is to take your seat off take the seat cover off and shave the seat foam down.
