OK, I am getting BBR Fork/Shock Springs 4 Christmas, and I have never fooled with suspension, so could n e one give me some tips on putting fork springs and shock springs on?

    Thanks

    Spring replacement

    Here are the Basic steps.

The rear is pretty simple. Remove the shock and then the top lock nut and then the spring. Reverse to install

The front is not too hard. You will need the front wheel off the ground and all pressure off the suspension.

    Remove the handle bars
Remove the fork caps. Keep track of the washers.
    Remove the springs
    Install new springs
    Check oil level
    Install washers and fork caps
    Install handle bars.

Then go Ride, Easy for the first couple of minutes, make sure that you have no leaks and all of the air is out of the bottom of the forks. Bounce the front end a couple of times. Then go for it!!!

How exactly to I check the oil level?

What do you "make sure that you have no leaks and all of the air is out of the bottom of the forks."?

Sorry for all the questions, I have never messed with suspension. Thanks.

He wasnt talkin about the oil in the engine. He was talking about the oil in the forks. Ummm, you'll need a service manuel and it tells you how much it needs. Call your local dealer and see how much to add.

1-After changing the fork oil, slowly pump the fork pipe several times to stabilize the fork oil level.

2-Compress the fork leg fully and measure the oil level from the top of the fork pipe. Should be 136 mm or 5.4 inches.

Dude, you dont have to take the bars off,I just took the springs out of the 230 to add oil like 2 days ago.All i did was take the caps off,and made a mark on a dowel 3.9 inches and measured that way.Dont be confused I raised my oil level for factory springs, you should go with your perscribed oil level because of those new springs

We have to take the bars off cause we have 1 1/8" bars on the 2 150's that we have. So the bars get on the way.
