CRF 150 or 230 if you are a trail rider. CR 85 Big Wheel if you are a racer.

hey i had a xr100. I am the same age as you and just went straight to a crf230. stuff the 150 i was looking at one and it didnt even seem much different to the 100. Yeh personally i would definately go to the 230 :P

for 5', the 230 will probably be too big. The 150 has substantially more power than the 100 (doesnt seem that way but it does,) and the 150 will be better for your weight. Its lighter than the 230, quite a bit lower in seat height, and still has a good amount of low-end torque. The 85 2 smoker is a completely different bike all together. Its good for racing, but definatley not as good a trail bike as the 150 or 230. I would go with the 150. If the 150 fits you better but you want power like the 230, there is a big bore kit for the 150 (175cc kit i think) that will give you a big boost in power. If i were you though, i would go sit on both of em and see what you like. There is a 2" lowering link for the 230, so its still a possibility.

get a 150, get a part time job and upgrade it step by step, over time you will become a excellent rider and when you want to upgrade you will have a wider choice of bikes sizes to pic from because you will be more confident.

personally i am a bit big for my 150 but i want to master the skills. go the 150, small, fast loud.
