I'm in my garage trying to replace my shaft right now, on my '06 CRF150F. I found instruction on how to do an '03 and it was/looked EASY. HOWEVER I can't get my shaft out past the clutch cage like the '03 can. I'm surfing the net NOW to see how to take the clutch cage of myself.

ANYONE have any advice, as I thought this was a 15 min job. HELP ME TOO PLEASE.

    Thanks,

I was trying to follow this EASY post, for an '03.

    http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/700337 ... on-crf150/

Yes I took off the clutch side cover (easy), but the clutch cage appears to NEED to come off, along with the smaller round cover that blocks the clutch cage from coming off. The clutch basket nut seems to be on tight, and the other cover appears to need a special 4 tab external socket.

This is a HOT project I needed to finish quickly, so it looks like a trip to the Honda shop for me today.

What year are you working on? Hopefully and '03 style, so it will be easy.

Good luck and HOPE someone else will post some confirmations on what to do.

I bought a $10 spanner socket, and used an impact ratchet and spun the nuts off. The clutch basket came right off and the shaft was easily pulled out. Rather simple job, with the correct tools.
