Shift hard skips gear?

    Shift hard skips gear?

    hi i am wondering if someone can help me out my crf 150 f when i shift up hard skips a gear its like the shift lever goes to high but if i shift lightly it will go from 1 to 2 nice and smooth could this be from the reverse shift pin or a shift fork any help wouold be great thanks.

    It sure sounds like a bent shifter fork or a bad valley in the shift drum. if the drum gets wore out they usually slip gears or hang up on a bind. bent shift forks tend to make it very difficult to shift in and out of gears. No sure way to know until the case's are split, and this is just me personally I would just do a full overhaul of the motor while your in there. gaskets, seals, bearings, and probably just look into a whole trans as a unit, instead of buying some of the more worn things piece by piece. E-bay I would look first. depending on how much work you do with puzzles and mechanics it might be wise to look into a shop. good luck, keep everyone posted.
