    New 150

    by MxFlamesxS » Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:18 pm

Hey, i was on a dirt road today and this guy had his crf150 out. I know the guy hes in college w/ my brother.. so he stopped and since I sold my quad I asked if it was for sale... He said he would sell it to me but I don't know if I should get it. It's local and in good condition. He let me ride it and it rides perfect. I don't have any dirtbike experiance I came from a utility quad but it wasn't hard at all. Anyway im 16 140 lbs and about 5'5. it's a little small but I know my dad wont let me get a new bike because it's too much money and we don't have a truck to get it home if we bought it from e-bay or something. So do you think I should get it? Ever since I sold my quad I wanted a bike or something faster and when I rode it today i jsut got hooked. I don't know if my dad will let me get it but do you think I should go for it? A 230 would fit me alot better but i'd like to have some cash left over for mods and stuff. thanks guys

    -Mike

Well i have to say it is kinda small but the 150 can be made into one of the sweetest pit bikes ever with CR85R front forks and handlebars and all the good stiuff so i would say if you wanna buy it and get into pit bike racing do it

not much a difference between the 230 and the 150.......just better suspension, and electric start..and bigger wheels..and the seat hight is 2 inch difference so just go for a 250 if u want some thing bigger or just get the 150... and only a couple mph difference and all that extra stuff on the 230 makes it go pretty much the same speed as the 150......your weight and hight are perfect to ride a motorcycle....u see all the pro riders and they arent tall...its not that hard riding a motorcycle...but they go faster than ATV's of course

Actually I just got back from the guys house and he also has a 2000 CR80 Expert for sale. He's taking it to our local dealer to get everything tuned and adjusted and then hes going to sell it. The oinly mods I reamber were FMF pipe, twin air air filter, new grips handlebars, FMF gold series headers, there were alot more but I forget them. I'm going to be doing trail ridding and he wants to sell the CR more do you think a 2stroke would be fine for the trails? I think it looks really nice but he didn't start it up because it didn't have any gas in it. It's a really clean bike, i shoulda got a picture but I didn't. ZIts really clean tho, it looks like he took good care of it. he wants 1,700 for it. Think I should go for that or the 150? Thanks for your input guys.

Well I am 5' 5" and wiegh about 125lbs and just moved up to a CR125R but i was on a 03 CR85 Expert with everything modifeid and yes they are exellent through the woods just be sure to throw on so handguards andturn the idle up higher than usual so it always keeps itself revved and it doesnt load up. I loved my 85 and it was so light you can thorw it around like nothing it was really fun on a track but yes yes yes to answer your question it is very good thorugh the woods light nimble and produces power when you need it
