    EXHAUSTIVE EXHAUSTS!!!

    by RACERBOY4 » Wed Aug 31, 2005 6:29 pm

    O.K. HERE WE GO...
I AM IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW EXHAUST.
I WORK FOR A DEALER SO THE SELECTION, HAS NO EQUAL..
SO I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE WAY I NEED TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM,
I COULD USE ANY OR ALL YA'LL'S HELP..
AND YES I AM FROM GEORGIA SORRY THE YA'LLS..
    I AM RESEARCHING THIS TO A T ..
SCOTT AT POWRALL SAYS THAT FOR MOTOCROSS, BOTTOM END IS THE WAY TO GO.. HIS POWERALL PIPE (WELL OVERSIZED HEADER) IS FOR MIDRANGE AND UP.
AND PROMISES THAT THE THRUST NOZZLE COUPLED WITH THE HEADER IS PERFECT FOR MY FLAT TRACK SUPERMOTOING.(AND MAKES MORE MIDRANGE THAN ANY BBR,BIG GUN, PROCIRCUITPIPE). OR IS HE TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING.. HE SAYS THAT THE 1 1/4 HEADER HAS MORE FLOW THAN ANYTHING ON THE MARKET. I LIKE THE SLEEPER IDEA BEHIND IT, BEING BLACK AND ALL. BIG GUN AND BBR BOTH DID SAY THAT
THEIR PRODUCT HAVE NO EQUAL AS WELL....
I WILL BE PUTTING THIS WITH A BIG BORE KIT.
170 OR HEAT INDUCING 175.. I'LL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER POST. ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

If you have the money go for the BBR. Thats what i will be getting sometime this winter for my 230. Make sure you get it here from crfsonly. They have the cheapest price ive seen.

My picks are (no particular order):

    1. BBR
    2. Pro Circuit
    3. Big Gun

I haven't seen any dyno numbers for either the 150 or the 230 that would justify adding an after market pipe. A different CAM or Big Bore kit would probably be a better investment.

    :
    my bad...
so what i am getting is that maybe a thrust nozzle may give the same amount of power as full sys.
if that's the case i would rather spend my money on a cam, and the hi comp piston kit....

engine mods will always trump exhaust mods...the thrust nozzle will free up the exhaust track and with engine mods you will experience excellent results.

    dear ken,
    Thank-you very much on this..
    on another subject...
A 170 cc big bore which supposedly will increase power by 40%, or
go hi-comp, by powroll will also increase by 40%...
won't hi -comp get the piston closer to valves(possibly
dercrease reliability) where float would be very baddd...
though less $ for no bore job...
    any help would help...

hi-comp kits require race gas, or octane booster, which is difficult to get and much more expensive to run. the hi-comp will get the piston closer to the valves but on a 150 it's not a high rev'ing motor so valve float is likely not going to be too much of an issue. have you read our 230 review of the big bore kit? this might give you some idea of what it's about...the 150 and 230 are very similar motors.
