    CRF 150 Fork oil..

    by odrogaaa » Sun Aug 07, 2005 10:58 am

    I don't have my owner's manual...I need to change my fork oil. I'm running BBR stiffer springs. Can someone(s) tell me what weight oil to use and how far from the top of the tube do I fill? Any other tips on fork set-up would be welcomed too. THANKS!

    It's not in the owners manual, it's in the service manual and this is what it says;
    RECOMMENDED FORK FLUID:Pro Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8
    FORK FLUID CAPACITY:290+/-2.5cm3 (9.8+/-0.08 US oz, 10.2+/-0.09 Imp oz)
    FORK OIL LEVEL: 136 mm (5.4 in)

    BBR springs are stiffer and require heavier weight fork oil to slow the rebound.

    A lot of guys are putting 15wt in these 150s when they increase the preload or put in stiffer springs. I haven't done it yet so will not try to advise you on that.

    What I can say is - Call BBR and talk to a tech support guy. They are happy to give you advise on the best weight to go with. They helped me with another one in the past....
