    want more power

    by dirtbikerliker » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:15 pm

hey guys. i want to get more power out of my bike. i already took the snorkel out of my air filter, and took out the exhaust baffeling. i know a pipe would give me more power, but i hear that its a waste of money if its being put on a 150f. is there anything else i could do to get more power/better response. your input is much appreciated. i also dont have a lot of money( just to let you guys kno)

Power is made by mixing fuel and air and compressing it, then igniting it.

The changes you made let more air in and more exhaust out. More air, without more fuel does nothing but make your bike run leaner and hotter.

Rejetting calibrates the correct amount of fuel to use with the new amount of air you are letting in.

More air + More Fuel = More power.

ok. i get what ur saying. so it if i were to move the ring on the main needle in the carb up/down a noth(i forget which way it is), that wouldnt do ne thing? but jetting it does wut exactly? larger holes allowing more gas flow?

99103-KPT-0420-Slow jet (42 being the size, stock is 40)

-99113-GHB-1150-Main jet (115 being the size, stock is 98 )

Now you can change the needle , but you really don't have to change it just move the clip to the fourth notch from the top of the needle if it isn't already there at the fourth notch.

If you do want to change the needle use part number -16012-KPT-921-Needle set (on the middle clip) .

umm. when i bought the bike. i took apart the carb and moved it to the middle clip. cuz the kid i bought it off of said thats where it originally was before he moved it. so. the clip is on the middle slot. ok. i gotcha. so once i rejett it, i should see significant power dif./ response

And bump the clip down one notch on the needle.

    I've got an idea
Why not read AS's very specific advice where he told you the exactly the Honda part number, the exact size and exact type of jet, and where exactly to put the needle clip ?
Yes, you'll get a little more power and a lot better throttle response, and a lot easier starting and a lot cooler running.
    It's a 150,and it'll run as good as it's going to.
Leave it how it is and risky burying your motor at a young age. Your dads friend is wrong. Doug

    those jets
Are at the dealer. He gave you Honda part numbers.
buy a 15 tooth sproket for the front

Do that and don't worry about the rear , it's fine as it is when you run the 15T front.
would need to get a new chain too

    No.
