Broke both forks, one completely in half

The short of the long story. Glen, The 60 year old father of a good friend of mine hit a jump on my CRF150F and lost control after landing in an unseen mud puddle on the back side. He didn't hit the jump straight and rode off the trail square into a 6 foot round oak tree at around 30 mph. He promptly broke both wrist (a compound fracture on his right) and flew over a 4 foot wire fence and into a huge patch of poison oak......

A quick helicopter ride from scenic Hollister to San Jose Regoinal medical center, a bit of emergency surgery, 2 days in the hospital and low and behold he is good to go. Although whiping his rear might be a little challenging for a few months.

Many thanks for the prompt and professional response of the staff at Hollister Hills SVRA who were on the scene in less than 5 minutes. From the volunteer trail guys, to the rangers and EMT's. Also special thanks to the guy who rode up with the GPS, the coordiates were priceless. And thanks to cell phone company for putting a cell in the middle of nowhere and lighting me up and getting me connected even though I had no bars of service.

I have poison oak everwhere I sweated including my pecker and I could just imagine where Glen has it after they cut off all his clothes and strapped him to a back board.

Anyway, I need front end solutions for my 150.

    I was thinking...

    1. CR85 front end.
    2. CRF150R front end
    3. Just replacing the stock forks.

Anybody know if the 150R front end will work? I see them on Ebay all the time.

Yup,it was Saturday around noon or a little after. I think they took him to that little airport in Hollister and transfered him to the Life Flight Chopper there. I was sort of surprised they air lifted him but I think it was because they couldn't get a vein on him. He didn't get morphine until half way to San Jose :(

As for the bike "mustang" and I just a made a deal to make it all better. Hopefully the frame's not bent

It was on the Rancho (? maybe ranch ?) Road trail about 2 interchages past the tracks where the fence line comes real close to the trail.

It was wet but just barely. Perfect in my mind. But there was maybe a 2' jump spanning the whoel trail that was high enough that you couldn't see behind it and sure enough the landing was a slicked out muddy mess.

While we were there 2 other people crashed right there in the same puddle. Even the ranger got side ways on there when he pulled up.

I cleared it on my friends TE450 though. I sort of feel a little guilty. I feel like I pulled him to fast but we were just then passing some slower riders that we had been following for while. He was passing the guys when it happened. They were sort of all over the trail and he was coming from the far left of the road and heading back to the right after the pass hard on the gas towards the middle when he came up to the jump. He didn't hit the jump lined up straight down the trail which wouldn't have been a thing had there not been that slick spot on the back side of the jump right where he landed.

There was some really slick stuff out there this weekend. When that red clay gets wet it's like ice if your not careful. Give him my best.
