    What jets?

    by Baam5774 » Sat May 07, 2005 7:46 am

I see a lot of messages regarding jetting. It looks like an easy inexpensive mod for some extra power. My question is that I also see that it depends on where you are regarding the jets to use. I am in Central Illinois. Bike is bone stock!! Snorkel still in. So what jets do I use so I can yank the snorkel and let er breathe?

Thanks for all your help!! This site rules!!

I live in Southern and when the bike was stock we ran a 98 (99113-GHB-0980)main and a 42 (99103-KPT-0420) slow jet with the snorkel and baffel removed and had good results.

Good combo for that elevation. One thing to keep in mind, you'll want to look at a better air filter. I use Twin-Air on my 230 and 150. Seems to be a pretty good product.

I live in north central Illinois and have a 117.5 main jet in my 150. It did have a 115 with the "power up" kit, but on some days the spark plug reading seemed just a bit lean so I bumped it up. Racing it Saturday night, so I'll see if the 117.5 is any better.
