i was considering the same thing. i had a 150F and wanted to get a 250X, but not only are they crazy high, a lot of maintnence is required on this bike. the racing engine requires a lot of attention, i've heard of valves being a problem on this bike too.
i've settled for a 230F. after i pep up the intake, carb, exaust, and shocks it will be perfect for my riding conditions.
if you don't mind having to mess with the parts, you could save a lot of money doing that.

A 250X actually needs relatively low maintanence as far as valves go, changing oil frequently will keep the engine running as it should, as long as it's not being revved to high for too long.

You might look into the Service Honda that fits the 250 engine into the CR85 frame. It's perfect for small riders from what I hear.

What is your budget? Are you old enough to get a few temporary jobs to more earn money?
