My new bike needs a diet.

It weighs like 223 or something, I bought the 150f today and will be picking it up tommorow at noon and I was just wondering what it takes to remove the battery and all electrical components and add a kick starter... If it isn's possible, or if there is no kit and it requres crazy customization feel free to flame me all night long.

Why didn't you buy the R? It only about $1000 more and if you financed, that isn't a lot per month.

You would have to source an engine from an 05 or earlier.

Like Joe said, you bought a steel framed, indestructable trail bike. If you wanted a lightweight motocrosser, you should've bought one.

Or BBR has an aluminum frame kit that really lightens it for about $ 3000.

I live in California. Red sticker = no fun. CRF150R = Red Sticker.

OK, got it. You are going to be fighting an uphill battle trying to get the old-style 150 to be light and fast. You would be better off concentrating on your riding style. Cornering is one technique that few people can really do well. Learn to be faster on what you have, then when you can, move to a 250X.
