It's still only a POS 150F and carb jetting is not going to make it faster or more powerful .It is only going to run better ..................it's still only 10 HP .

doug. i kno the difference between the R and the X. im not that new. What i was simply askin is, which one do u guys like. cons and pros to both the bikes. i like to do mostly trail riding. like black diamond trails. so would the R be better because its faster and lighter, or the X because its the trail type of bike.

Stock, the X wins fairly easily, but once you mod a Ra little bit, they make a hell of a woods weapon! Ask Doug. All of us here love R's with Rekluses. I went with the R because it came with a more nimble chassis, no girly frills motor(EPA stuff, heavy pipe, e-start, and bad jetting from the factory). That being said, there are times that I wish I had an E-start. It also comes with stiffer suspension, so if you really hammer trails hard, it won't bottom out. That being said, it is way too hard for easy trail riding. The previous owner on my bike but in race tech front fork springs on mine for just that reason.

All, R's are cheaper and more FUN. I may not be able to USE all of that power, but I CAN have fun with all of that power. And, they tend to be a lot cheaper to buy.

    The wife rides one , she's happy that it's a slug !
Just don't think that you are magically going to transform it cuz it won't happen !

If you dont have anything nice to say, then dont say anything at all. sorry im not as well off as you are, but thats all i could afford. so go be a d!ck somewhere else and keep your rude comments to yourself. [-X . Why cant you be more supportive like everyone else. i thought all the riders stuck up for each other. obviously i was wrong. o well. im going get a new bike soon anyways. then you want be able to say $h!t about it. Not to be a dick but if you could have been bothered to LOOK at the sticky in the 150f forum . FOOK me look who wrote it ! ;)
and it still has crappy suspension and a slug motor !
You would be better off on this bike to spend the money on a cr85 suspension conversion and then you can at least use the 10 measly HP it puts out .

I aint baggin on ya I was tryin to tell you that you won't get more power out of it cheaply and the money and time and effort would be well spent on a better bike .

The Crf 150 F is a fine bike for what it is , a play bike ,it is nothing more !The wife Loves hers !but she aint Johny racer either .
So don't get your panties in a wad ! When you grow up you might just figure it out

Mustang's trying to tell you that though it's a fine little play bike it is just that, a play bike, great for new riders. A lot of new riders wil reakd about al these hop-up modifications and parts in the magazines and read about what we do to 250/450X's for example, then think if they do this or that to their CRF150F for instance it's going to become a fire-breathing high performance dirt shredder, and that won't happen.
You could install a big bore kit,a cam,a pipe,an exhaust, a total of over a thousand dollars ! Though it would make it a fun to ride play bike it'll still be a play bike, and would still get smoked by any good 85-105 two stroke or 150R.
The airbox and jetting mods we told you about, the same stuff Honda recommends for the bike by the way ?
Your bike will run a lot better, but it's still a 10 hp play bike. You may be then up to 11.
Ride and enjoy your bike, and keep it looking and running great. If you do, the used market for bikes like yours is a sellers market and they move fast. Super clean little bikes usually go for around the NADA /Kelly book, if they are clean and well maintained. That'll help you when it's time to get what you really want. Doug
