    Not a Good Idea

    by ImhurdlerJr » Fri May 12, 2006 12:01 am

Ok, here is a video of my roommate trying to teach his girlfriend how to ride my 230f. Let me start by saying that if I hadn't of been highly intoxicated I would not have said yes when asked if I would mind if she rode it. My roommate and his girl had not been drinking, so stupidity is their only excuse.

How much can I expect to spend on a new set of bars?

    Enjoy,
    Dusty

First off that seriously bent the bars? Didn't look bad at all.

Second, how good of a friend are you letting them even get on your bike, knowing you they are new to riding, without gear or at least a helmet.

PS. Next time tell your friend to stand on the clutch side that way instead of trying to control her reaction with the throttle you can just pull the clutch in and the bike won't go anywhere.

As I said, if I was in a sober state of mind I would have said no. And yeah it bent the bars. I was able to get them close to where they should be but still a bit cockeyed.

My roommate said the samething about standing on the left. You know what they say about hindsight.

    Later,
    Dusty

PS- I don't approve of squidly actions such as learning to ride with no gear on. This is why I labled the post "Not a Good Idea" But in the end they are both adults and no one was hurt so I can laugh at it now.

I agree with both these statements. It is a good laugh once no one is hurt.

As for the price of bars, you can spend anywhere between $60-120 depending on what you want. Some will take different mounting hardware also.

CRFsonly.com has 6 different bars you can choose from.

Try starting out in second or third gear next time. That way it bogs instead of taking off, even when throttle is nailed.

I don't want to sound mean but that was funny stuff, glad to see no one got hurt, bent bars are much easer to fix then broken bones.

    Ditto, my thoughts exactly!

Picks up the bike and holds it while girlfriend squirms on the ground!
