    fuel screw??

    by idirtjump » Mon Jun 17, 2013 8:44 pm

newbie here^^^^ i have an 08 crf230f with the "D" shaped fuel screw on my carb and recently bought a 03-05 carb rebuild kit just so i could use the 03-05 needle but the kit came with the 03-05 fuel screw that has the flat-head screwdriver end. is it ok to change out my "D" shaped fuel screw for the 03-05 one? or is there more difference to them than just the head? just trying to make it easier to tune once she is all back together.

    Should change over Ok.
Just make sure all the old o ring comes out.
Make sure you put the bits back together correctly.

Over the fuel screw spring first, washer(to protect Oring), then Oring. Then screw in.
Set it at where the old one was or 1.75 turns out if you didn't check. You will have to adjust from there.

An extended fuel screw would have been a better option.

    Baffle out, Screens In

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas
