Do a Google search on converting a dirt bike for street use in your state. That's what I did when I contemplated the process in California. Lots of info

I wish it had been as cheap as $400-$500. It costs big bux in Ca. The conversion, the red tape. Not a project for the faint of heart or financially challenged

I installed a acerbis headlight, updated the halogens with low
wattage LEDs from the home depot.... did an LED taillight and
switch. installed a mirror from a 71 honda cb175, went to a
currency exchange and plated it in Chicago.... couple hundred
bucks, also called my insurance agent and got it insured too...
fun and easy!!!
Aussie, You are correct. I consider moving out of this political circus about once a week on average. The cost begins to add up when I consider the cost of the divorce I would go thru if I tried to move the little woman into greener pastures. I would rather face the challenges of California than risk losing my stable of toys in that never pretty scenario. 30 years of marriage, if nothing else, has taught me that one must choose their battles carefully.
