    230F forks

    by runnin30 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 2:42 pm

I bought a 2005 CRF230F this spring and started riding trails this summer. Well I had my first big crash and think the forks are bent. I'm looking for suggestions on what to do. Should I buy new forks? Can you just replace the bent portion?

The only thing I've done so far is loosen the triple trees and try to straighten them with a rubber mallet. It didn't do anything. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks.

welcome to CRF's Only. hopefully, you fared better than your forks. in most cases the forks are not bent but rather out of alignment in the triple clamps. follow the correct fork install procedure to see if this resolves the issue. if it doesn't then take a known straight edge to determine if they truly are bent.

Where can I find this info? I don't have a manual.
