    Hour Meter/ tach/ speedometer...

    by cubegleamer » Thu Aug 02, 2012 8:32 pm

I was looking for an hour meter for my 230 and I came across one made by Vapor that they sell on eBay. Is anyone using one of the Dash Board Indacators? They have a bunch of useful features. They advertise it for the CRF230F but it says that the engine temp sensor is inserted into the radiator hose. Which hour meter do you guys use?

Vapor is nice, Voyager is better. If you are just looking for an hour meter then pick up an OEM Yamaha for $25.

Essentially several flavors (I am making the names up):
Basic - only tracks total engine hours
Resetable - keeps total engine hours, but also keeps a second counter than can be reset (good for knowing when to change your oil without writing things down)
Standard Computer (e.g., Vapor)- Keeps total engine time, second resetable counter, engine temp, wheel speed, tach
Advanced Computer (e.g., Voyager) - Keeps total engine time, second resetable counter, engine temp, wheel speed, tach, ride miles, total miles, outside air temp, GPS map data (not like a Garmin or similar - you create the map by ride or download), completely resetable for moving to a new bike, + other cool stuff.

As far as the engine temp, yes the Vapor sensor is for a water cooled bike.

Does temperature gauge work for the CRF230F?
