"2012 CRF 230f" Just recently the bike wont start, when clutch is pulled and is in gear. This just started after I was doing a little work on the carb. Otherwise bike starts in neutral and runs great. This is a pain in the neck when out on the trail because every time I stall I loose momentum, having to find neutral in stead of just pulling in the clutch and moving on. Im totally clueless what it could be and would rather learn to fix it instead of bringing it back to the dealer. Thanks

The switch at the clutch lever is not breaking the circuit when you pull in the lever. To prove this disconect the leads at the lever, don't join them together an see if it starts. Then join them together an see what happens.

Have a look at the wiring diagram if it is not clear.

Let us know how you go.

Not sure but later bikes may also have a switch on the side stand that can also give trouble.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and no luck, so I chased the (grean & red) wire and found a small switch (or connection) underneath the front chain ring cover. I cleaned it out with some compressed air then applied a drop of dielectric grease to keep the elements out. All set works as designed thanks again
