i have asked this before and i am still vague. :? I have an 08 crf230f. 132/45 uncorked. i was invited to the sand dunes the first of ocober. i do not believe i will enjoy the sand so i do not want to buy a paddle tire. Can my bike handle the soft sand for a one time run? I will air down and i know i will have to pin it. but i also do not want to make the run if i will not be able to ride.
(total cost about 100 dollars for fuel, rip rod, snacks etc.) so please forgive my stupidity what i need is a simple yes or no. (learning disability, or early onset demensia i'm not sure) thanks

You'll be able to cruise around a little, but you won't be climbing any big hills or doing any sidehilling.

Sand needs power...finesse just doesn't cut it.

if you stay on the hard pack (shore) you'll be ok, but if you go into the soft sand, you wont like it

What they said, and install a 14 tooth countershaft sprocket that you'll keep on it after you leave the dunes, too.
Just do it and you'll see why. Doug
