New member Jetting question....

Hi
I'm a new member, just bought a '08 230f. I
have read tons of post here and other sites on
power up Kits but haven't found much if any
info on '08 models.
I live on Mississippi Gulf coast (sea level)
Average temps are 50-90 degrees
Living here @ sea level I am concerned my bike
is too lean, and if I uncork the thing it will
be leaner.
What would be the best combo of
Needle jet size
Needle jet clip position
Main jet size
pilot jet size
I plan on an after market filter(no sure which
one)
I don't push the bike hard. I just do not won't to worry about running to lean and damaging
the engine.
I also want the best setup with no issues

Thanks for any help
BTW I love the site

try a JD jetting kit it will tell every thing you need to with its manual from what size jets to use to clip postion to temperture to sea level. Every thing.

unfortunately a jd kit isn't available for this model. you'll get some answers to this question from those with this bike. hang tight...and welcome to the site.

Keeping this one alive for you...

Differences between model years were practically nothing, except jetting. Most will say the hot ticket is a 45-48 pilot and 130-132 main, with the 2005 model year needle raised to the 4th position.

The bigger pilot eliminates the surge off the bottom. The main and needle changes should take care of everything else. Clean the weld out of the head pipe and install an aftermarket filter.

This is a "sketch" answer, you should do a bit more research and find the proper specifics. Your mileage may vary. Just thought I'd help you with a bump!

Any word from Emig about when the stem will be ready. I'm counting on you to have good news. I hope you get the first one free.

I removed the back fire screen in the air box (not fun), and added pro circuit T4, BBR cdi box, twin air filter. I was amazed how much it woke this bike up. jetting was one up on the main and pilot, two turns out on the mixture screw. Total cost about $500, well worth it.
