okay... have done the jets,etc...
now this is the next mod.....
I need advice....
I have been advised by the dealer to go to an alloy chain and if I go with the Renthal.. that is 16T front and 61T rear.
got a couple of questions:
1. how hard is this to do??? the shop labor will be more than the darn kit costs!! and I bet I can do it myself
2. what will I notice as the difference ?
3. Do I need to know anything special about taking off the sprokets Installing the new ones? any "cutting" that I need to do to the chain guard? etc....

Do not bother going to an alloy rear sprocket on a trailbike.
There is nothing wrong with steel sprockets and an o-ring chain.
Depending where you ride a larger front sprocket maybe better some go to 14 tooth others 15 tooth with the standard rear sprocket.

I'm not that experienced with bike mods but first I dont see how you could even fit a 16T sprocket on the bike without doing alot of work so that it would have clearance if its even possible and I dont know why you would want to. Are you riding it on the street or something? Especially with a 61T rear...its gonna kill your power.

I am refering to the modification kit advertised directly on this website when you go to the 230F section.
The Renthal kit is right there.... what am I missing here?
it is also in line with what I have been told at the dealer.
by the way ... it is not the size of the front that gives you the aswer on output. it is the RATIO of the front and rear together. This is an idea that I know inside out from my 20 years plus riding mountain bikes.
so the stock 13/50 = 3.84 Rear/front
the ugrade I am mentioning 16/61 3.81 Rear/Front
so it is basically IDENTICAL... excepct the chain is way lighter.... therefore takes much less energy to pull around.

If the small weight saving over the 2 chains is so crucial ,dont have breakfast/lose some weight/carry less in your back pack, but dont junk the stock chain, its not that important???if it is your on the wrong bike
