I refurbished my plastics on my 450 before painting them black. I used 220 and 400 grit to remove scratches, and 1500 (use water) after each coat until the last coat which just got a coat of wax.

Now if you want to renew stock plastic then fallow the same coarse but don’t paint. To get the shine back you will need an angle grinder with a polishing wheel (remove the wheel guard), a bench grinder is normaly used but the maneuverability too limited. You will find rouge hanging near the polishing wheel (at the store), get one that works with plastic.

Start the grinder, apply the rouge to the spinning wheel then use the wheel on your sanded plastics. Stop often so you don’t build up heat.
