about 13 stock and 16 with mods. So you can gain about 3hp.

Funny that the crf250r with 20 more cc's makes about 20 more horsepower.

12.5:1 compression instead of 9:1 4 valves instead of 2 and liquid cooling instead of air. I hope it would make 20 more hp.
But I think the 230 makes like 17hp. Power up kit might give you 2 hp

The sticker on my 230 says 19hp.

I don't know how much the power up kit would add, but it's much nicer to ride with it.

Ok, the 230 stock has about 23 hp. the 250 only has 35 stock. With taking out the baffle, getting a better air cleaner, and opening up the airbox you can get 5 horses. If you want a little more, you can mix it with e85 ethanol, not a lot and get about 2 more. When you open the airbox and exhaust, make sure you rejet it. The pilot jet is fine most of the time, just change the main jet.

stock 230 puts down between 16-17 at the wheel

power up mod does not net 5 horses (2-3 IF THAT)

If you think that a stock 230 makes 23 HP you are high as a kite.

It would take Alot of money to get to 23 hp including a ton of parts from Coeshow.

I'm thinking that 23bhp is an uncorrected figure.
If the dyno operator doesn't correct the result back for standard temperature and pressure, so it is compareable to everyone elses result, you can get some impressive figures.

The dyno operator may have measured the transmission loss and hit the button to add this to the wheel figure in a sort of indication of engine power.

Mind you I would be worried if i had 6-7bhp transmission losses on any bike.

Something that might be a factor is the stock jet the dealer put in. There are 2 jets that can come with the bike 98, 102 and mine was a 102 in my bike at sealevel. elevation may have a difference.

those jets are too small anyhow to get you 23 h/p

a stock JETTED 230 is 16-17 at the wheel
