Ive been noticing a whining noise in the engine of my 04 230 when I put it in gear and start to take off. This is my first CFR is this normal? I dont notice it after I get going.

well to answer your question about your "cfr" i wouldnt know anything about those bike, but if i was a crf then i would say that its not normal to have any whining noise.

First, welcome to the site.

Second, noise problems are hard to troubleshoot over the net, but I doubt there is any real problem. Just make sure you have plenty of oil.

Is it making the noise as you're letting the clutch out?

I took it to the Honda shop today and they said there wasnt a problem. That some of the bikes make that noise and some didnt. They said it was the trany being engaged. Its when I first let out on the clutch and start moving. Its not a bad noise I just wanted to make sure it wasnt leading to a problem.
