HELP Am i missing something? PICS

    by JerseyStepUp » Sun Nov 04, 2007 1:10 pm

Just got home from riding.. i rode MX track all day.. and wow was it tough.. i stopped to take a break and noticed my front wheel was incredibly loose... so loose i could turn the bolts by hand.. i tightened them up but to me it looks like im missing something... am i or am i wrong? is there something that should prevent the wheel from sliding off besides those 4 bolts?

Nothing missing, the four nuts are used to pinch the axle in place.

If the axle is loose here or there are metal fragments, then you may have killed a wheel bearing.

No way they should come loose.

Tip for you jersey... no matter what bike your riding, ALWAYS check these things before EVERY ride esp at a track. Check them after your get bike home as well. ITs all part of maint... if you dont... you will be sorry. It will either hurt you, or cost you money.
