Only Start in NEUTRAL???? HOT START?? please help

OK so I replaced my clutch perch and lever with a brand spankin new ASV lever , but what i didn't realize is that on the old clutch assembly there was a little switch that pushed in when the lever was out that was connected to 2 wires (plugs) that enabled the bike to start in any gear. Now that this is disconnected I can only start the bike in nuetral which i hate. And on top of that the lever i bought came with the hot start , but I have no idea how this works or even if its able to be hooked up on my bike and what exactly its used for. I am new at all of this mechanics and bike and have been doing well so far, I'd like to continue learning, so if someone has an idea about what i can do to solve these issues please help me out . I can live with not starting the bike in gear if I have to, but i would rather not. please help!!

Connecvt the two wires together and you'll be able to start in any gear again.

The Hot start is made for carbs that have the hot start plunger. Yours does not.

Do you mean cut the end plugs off each wire and connect them together , and then use some electrical tape or something to wrap them?

yes, that is what he means.

try a solid crimp with heatwrap instead of tape.
