    fuel leak

Me and my dad recently installed a baja designs light kit on his 06 230. We finished it today and everything works, but the long black tube that comes out of the carburetor float bowl will not stop spewing gas. My only theory is that the float is stuck open but i don't understand why it would do it now. The tank was off of it for about two weeks while we installed the light and waited for parts, and the air filter is out while we wait for a new one. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

I agree with your theory. You probably have some debris that is preventing the valve from closing.
You turned off the gas to remove the tank. The gas in the carb evaporated. There was some trash left at the bottom of the bowl. When you remounted the tank you turned on the gas and it flushed something in to your system. Possible?

Well after a call to the local dealer, they suggested to tap on the float bowl with a screwdriver, and drain the bowl a couple of times. Amazingly this actually worked really well. Gave it a few taps and drained it and the gas stopped flowing. Runs just great now.

On another note the baja designs headlight works great, although the directions are a little confusing. Also ordered their skid plate, fits very well and was easy to install, great products.
