Hi, I just installed the "power up kit" on my 230 including a twin air filter and removed both baffles. There are no other performance modifications on it. I started it up and it warmed up faster than usual :) and was noticeably louder. I couldn't ride it because it was night and it was too loud.

When giving it gas, the engine would start to "bounce" as if hitting the rev limiter at various throttle positions. I'm no expert, but I know this isn't right. What do I need to do to fix this? Also, what do I need to do to tune the carb correctly? I'll be keeping a close eye on the color of the spark plug for a while - what color should it be? Also, the bike is an '05 if that makes a difference.

    Thanks all in advance!

Note: I installed the part numbers recommended on this forum and I ride at elevations from 9,000 to 13,000+ although I'll probably be going to Utah later this summer.

You might want to try adjusting the air/fuel screw on the carb in conjustion with the idle screw for the sweet spot. If you have a 2007 model u will need a special tool for the adjustment. I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by bouncing, but after installing a new needle and jet its probably a good idea to make these adjustments. I just went through a bunch of stuff with my power up kit and carb and thats what worked for me after i fixed the other issues.
