how long have you own your 230? and when do you know it's time for something bigger. or are you guys happy with the 230 and wouldn't trade it for anything else... what would be the next step the 250 or the 450?

I can’t imagine a time when I will ever sell my 230. but I will probably get a 450x one day.

Kris- How are you finding the jump from a 230 to the CR250? I rode a 2007 CR250 lately and it was amazing. I loved it but I have only been riding for two months. Thinking about the CRF250R for my next one.

The jump was defiantly a big one. The first few times I had to really hold on. It about shot out from underneth me. But now I've gotten used to the power band so it isn't so bad. it sits alot better than the 230 as far as riding on a track. aloth easier to corner. And I have yet to get arm pump on the CR I got bad on the 230 until I swapped out handle bars.
Plus sinceI have upgraded to the 250 Getting a few sponsors was a little easier. Just picked up another one today. Right now I have Twin air and Panolin Lubricants. Here is a pic of the 230 and the new 250

Kris I know what you mean about hanging on. I actually had a hard time keeping the front wheel on the ground at moments. I finally found out what people were explaining when they say the bike is up there and you are back here with a big twist of the throttle , WOW!!!!! I can see where on a track it will take lots of practice to time that power band correctly at the right moment, but when that is dialed in, hmmmm, I can see lots of fun.

Yupers! I took her out last night and had a guy give me some pointers mainly about standing up except for the corners and man what a differance. My lap times got a lot quicker and the breaking bumps dind't beat the crap out of me. and was hitting the jumps alot better. I think I found that sweetspot of the powerband and learning to control it. Still need more stick time on it though. LOL
