    stock speedo problem

    by andyt » Mon May 28, 2007 10:21 am

the stock digital speedo/rev counter on my Euro-spec 2005 CRF230F has stopped working properly after a wet/muddy ride. The LCD display comes on as normal but goes blank after a few seconds. Does anyone have any idea what the fault might be? Maybe there's a separate battery for the display or something? Nothing in the owner's manual. Thanks in advance for any help.

I’m not familiar with the Euro 230 but most electronics have a problem with water. Let everything dry out and it should start working fine. 8)

Have you any pics? What is the name or model of the bike.

thanks 'gal8x' and 'chillyengineer' for responding. I think you're right 'chillyengineer', the pickup magnet on the back wheel may have gone AWOL. What am I looking for exactly? Any chance you could send me a snap of your's to [email protected]? By the way, it's enduro heaven down here in sunny SW France. You'd like it!
