the sound was coming from my chain i've had the bike for about 4 months it was a brand new bike it just did it the other day when i landed a jump i always check my bike out before i ride i noticed the chain had a little more slack than the day before i loosened the rear will today and adjusted it i could tell a big difference in 2nd,3rd gear it felt like it had a lot more pull in it

do you have an owners manual?
do you have a service manual?
you should get a service manual if you dont have one.
Adjust your chain for about ½” of slack. A little loose is better than a little tight. Both adjusters should be on the same mark.
If you follow the manual your chain will live a ling and happy life.
My chain is a year old and I have plenty of room for expansion. I did install a 14 tooth primary which will absorb some slack. The chain on this bike is pretty tough. I do have some wear from the chain guide. I will try to post some pics.
