Need to service our 06 CRF230F and do not have the manual. Need the engine and tranny oil specs.

    Thanks

Only has oil in the common crankcase. 1.1 US quarts.

    Honda GN4 10w40, or Honda HP4 10w40.

DO NOT USE any oil with energy conserving on the label or any oil with Molybdenum. It will impact your clutch.

I have an 06', and bought a manual on ebay for $45 shipped.

Check this link out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CRF230F- ... dZViewItem

Good luck. Keep in mind too, that the 03 thru 06 are virtually the same (except graphics).

What is Molybdenum? Is it alright if I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer?

Don't use the moly in your 230. The moly is, for lack of a better word, a "slickening" agent. Moly is fine for engines, but NOT for transmissions. It'll cause your tranny to slip all over the place if you use it.

The 230 doesn't have a split case. In the bigger bikes, the engine and tranny oils are seperate. The 230 is not built that way. The 1.1 quart of oil that goes in the 230 is used by the whole system. Don't use oils with Moly in the 230.

As far as an oil additive, it's a waste of money. Use the oil that is recommended and change often. Changing the oil often and keeping the ail filter clean are the two BEST things you can do for your bike.
